FREE BEER at one Greater Manchester pub this weekend – but on one condition

One pub in Greater Manchester is getting into the spooky season in a rather unusual way. The Holts Arms at Billinge are celebrating the Halloween weekend by giving out a free drink this weekend – but there’s a catch.

In a rather amusing play on words, Holts Arms – The Foot is serving up free pints on the condition that you bring someone called Ian. Get it?

The Wigan pub took to Facebook to lay down the rules for the return of Hallow-Ian. In their post, they said: “It’s that time of year again! From Friday 27th through to Tuesday 31st October it’s time to did out your Ian and bring him to The Foot to claim your free drink.”

Here is a list of terms and conditions:

  • Proof of name is required.
  • One drink per Ian
  • One Ian per customer
  • Ians are not transferable
  • Drink is for the person bringing Ian, not Ian
  • Unless an Ian brings an Ian

The pub added they will also accept the following spelling variations of the name Ian – Iain, Iaon, and Eoin. They also added, if your middle name is Ian, you can get a free drink on the condition that you “go by Ian” as your first name.

The offer is only available at The Holts from Friday (October 27) to Tuesday (October 31).
